Stochastic Hydrology Workshop for Middle and Senior Managers
January 08, 2001
The CRC for Catchment Hydrology is holding a workshop on Stochastic Hydrology, aimed at middle and senior managers in the water industry. The workshop is scheduled for Thursday, 22 February 2001 and will be held at The University of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
When: Thursday, 22 February 2001
Where:
Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering
The University of Melbourne
Engineering Building C
4th floor, Lecture Theatre C2
Objective:
This workshop is aimed at promoting the use of methods to generate streamflow and climate data among middle to senior managers in water agencies, catchment boards and consulting firms dealing with managing water systems and catchment resources. We aim to answer such questions as 'What new insight does stochastic data bring to understanding the risks in water resources management?'. Our recent experience suggests the need for a practical workshop to develop an understanding among middle to senior managers of the general methodology, the attributes and the limitations of stochastic data generation in resources decision making. Furthermore, there are a number of myths about the techniques which we would like to discuss.
Cost and Registration:
Registration for the Workshop costs $275 (incl. 10% GST) and covers Workshop notes, lunch and morning tea.
Places at the workshop are limited by the number of workstations to 25 participants. Places will be offered on a priority basis and additional workshops will be arranged if required.
