Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) is a philosophical approach to urban planning and design that aims to minimise the hydrological impacts of urban development on the surrounding environment. Its principles can apply to individual houses and streetscapes or to whole catchments.
Fundamental to successfully applying WSUD principles is an understanding of the performance capabilities of structural stormwater management strategies, their life cycle costs and market acceptance.
