Welcome to the CRC for Catchment Hydrology’s Bushfire and Hydrology web site. This site has been put together in response to the large number of queries we have received in the wake of the devastating bushfires of January, 2003. These fires have affected an area of over 1.5 million hectares in south-eastern Australia, raising public concern about possible impacts on water quantity and quality. The information contained on this site is provided to assist land and water managers with their impact assessment and rehabilitation planning.
